Black Photography Paper

is the film and traditional photography paper dead?
I have a black lab and white ….
It might surprise you to that "traditional" photographic film and paper is alive and well. Do not believe all these pronouncements of its demise … It's a rumor and nothing more than a way for manufacturers to promote digital tide of digital technology as they laugh all the way to the bank with their wheelbarrows filled with money … digital technology is much cheaper and easier to manufacture with fewer workers, which means lower wages be paid, less benefits, etc., and manufacturers reap the benefits of more and more as they sell at ridiculously high prices! They promote the convenience quality, and it's OK for the average consumer … but even the average consumer must rely on photographers passionate and professional when they need good family portraits, wedding photos, or photos for magazines, newspapers, news media, glamor, architecture, travel, etc. I remember reading about the heated debates of the past centered on whether or not the photograph was a form of art, akin to debates Today on film vs. digital technology. But every step that the progress we made has had its share of debate, too. I can only imagine how those who learned and used the daguerreotype must have felt when they were exposed to direct positive images on glass (ambrotypes) and use Tintype metal (an emulsion of gelatin and silver bromide on glass plates and tintypes), and Film Roll of Kodak about 1889. OR, to imagine how photographers work must have felt about 1907 when the first commercial color film of Autochrome plates (manufactured in France by the brothers Light)! And, when the company Leitz in Germany has developed the camera using the modern 24x36mm sprocketed 35mm film around 1914 or 1915, and the shock waves caused by these cameras smaller and more mobile must have on the public and professionals working! Of course, the development of Kodachrome, the first film color of multi-colored layers must have had an effect on the popular use of films in black and white, too. Like the film, Polaroid cameras and picturesque 1963, which are now relegated to museum attractions. I still remember the popularity of color films in the 60s to mid 70 and how all those who repeated again used and developed black and white film and has sounded the death toll of black and white film at the time and hand-painted and white photos in black with oil paintings, but in black and white is still a popular medium to worldwide. Who would have imagined back in the mid 70s, the revolution that digital photography was done on the world of photography when Nicholas Nixon took his first annual snapshot of his wife and her sisters (The Brown Sisters) using the first CCD camera based digital work done by Steve Sasson at Kodak? Progress continues and fails to embrace who he is condemned to remain in the past (I am one of those fossils who still uses film). It was back in the mid 80s, if I remember, when first focus Minolta worldwide automobile, the first SLR system and everyone makes fun of technology and found all sorts of reasons it does … or would not be adopted by the public or professionals who work … how the weather changes! Digital photography and film photography are both the means and ways of doing the same thing, taking pictures and "immortalize a slice of life that does not repeat all again. "Technological advances are nothing more than the inevitable progress to take place if humanity is to continue to grow, an invention has many branches and each branch has other and the ingenuity of man is not limit! Film still has some advantages that digital technology does not yet match (dynamic range of the film far exceeds that of digital sensors, the ability to capture details of quality in both highlights and areas shadoy in a scene, archiving issues and the need for constantly backup several times, the depth of film images, etc.) and it would be foolish for someone to say that digital will never catch up this movie was made for about 120 years! But cinema is not dead and that's what counts. I start up my own darkroom wet again after more than 30 years of a darkroom. I even set up an area where I'll be able to hand-color photos in black and white paintings Oil, too. Because it's fun and very relaxing!
