Photography Tips for backpackers

"There are no rules for good photographs, there are only good photographs."

Ansel Adams –

General Tips

Make regular backups of your photos in case some something happens to your camera or memory card is full. You can burn CDs or DVDs in Internet cafés (Make sure you have a good jewel robust to protect the media) or you can store your photos on your player MP3/media or external memory stick. If you're on a really fast (and I reaaaaaaaaally say fast) connection you can even download the photos somewhere on the Internet like Flickr or Picasa.

If make two copies of your pictures (in one case is lost) Be sure to store them in separate locations (eg one in your backpack and one in your backpack) to not to lose both if one of your bags is lost.

If you want to ask someone to take your picture try to find someone with an advanced camera with a lens TV – they are generally qualified to take pictures. Give them instructions on how you want the photo for Search cultures, for example image above the knees, including all rounds of the church.

Remember recharge your batteries before you go to places where recharging can be difficult (as most treks). Bring spare batteries is a must if photography is your main interest.

If you take a cruise in a home or other place where you Get your picture taken and the photos are displayed on a wall purchase (mostly at exorbitant prices) and you're a bad person, you can use your digital camera to take a photo image. Now you do not hear that one of us;) This also works for the section of postcards ("Gee, I do not know Sydney Opera House looked like inside. ")

Staff Experience – The Mess memory card

Keep track of your memory cards if you have several. I met a couple of Irishmen in Jordan who managed to lose their cards all the photos of their trip. Memory cards are very cheap these days, so get a great (if your device is the height) so you do not need to bother with several cards.

Rule of thirds

Many people perceive the camera like a rifle: target the middle and we hope you take what you're shooting. Many times pictures with people, animals and other things centered in the middle looks pretty static and sometimes downright annoying.

The trick is not always put your subject right in the center of your image. The rule Third states that you must divide your image into different sections. Imagine two horizontal and two vertical lines in the viewfinder as a grid of tic-tac-toe. When these lines intersect is where you should place your subject.

Try putting the horizon on one of the lower or upper rows of the image.

Use flash

Flash is not only useful when the light is low. If the sun is behind the subject, the subject can turn into a dark silhouette.

Get Closer

Do not be shy. Removal closely on the subject can create a strong sense of presence. This technique may not always be appropriate, for example, certain religious procedures. Some people have a strong aversion to having their picture taken for various reasons.

Diagonals

Diagonals may be used to provide a path for the viewers eye to follow in the photo. It can be used to direct the eye in a direction in the photo and the orientation of the image as in the example below.

Staff Experience – The Sin of Mineralnye Vody

On the small airport of Mineralnye Vody in Russia my friend to bring his camera to take a picture of a plane, it is amusing – something most people would never set foot in. Two Russian guards materialize from nowhere and demand to return the movie. What made after a few minutes of "negotiation".

Using natural settings

You can sometimes find natural settings that you can use to frame your subject. This can range from doors, window frames, rocks, trees, etc. and can give a good composition of your photo.

Use your imagination

Change your level, such as firing up a low position or downward from an position. Also the experience of changing from horizontal to vertical in your camera.

Taking pictures is all about being creative. Try to look for new ways to see your subject. What if you climb the stairs and get above? What if you lie on the ground? What if you turn the zoom while you shoot? What if you use the timer on your camera and throw it in the air and see what happens? What if you break all the rules "in this section?
