Famous Photography

Famous Photography
How can a band put me on a list so I can take live photography for them?

A famous band is coming to town, and I’m a photographer. I contacted the band asking them if they could put me on the guest list so I could do live photography. A band member replied and told me he doesn’t know how to handle the guest list situation. How does this work? Should I contact the venue to be put on the guest list as a photography, or does the band have to?

If you were a “photographer” then you would know how this works. You can not just make a phone call / send an email and ask for permission to the photo pit, it just does not work like that.

I agree with FotoZ, you need to take the hint.. The band member was saying (quite nicely in fact)

“I can not be bothered to explain it, I have numerous emails a day like this, speak to somebody else”.

People who have access to shoot events like this are established photographers who work for known publications and will have been issued press passes. I can not help but shake the feeling that you are somebody who has just bought a Nikon D40 and 55-200mm lens and thinks they can shoot a concert.

I’ll say it again.. If you were a photographer, you would know how this works..

In collaborating on Miracle, Celine Dion and her partner in baby love Anne Geddes carefully sidestepped the L-word–a smart move, considering that the songs captured here, despite their electric-blanket warmth, aren’t always lullaby-like in their delivery. Though the collaboration is about babies–the liner notes to this CD provide a sneak peek at Geddes’ visual wizardry available in both the exp…
