Nature Photography

How would I go about starting a career as a photographer? (Nature photography etc)?
I guess I start by taking photos and make a portfolio, but so what? where would I go to see my photos? How can you become a photographer taking photos of people hanging in their homes?
You must master the intricacies of using a camera to use is second nature, you need to know something about art, but for a wildlife photographer the most important thing you need to know is your subject. The best place to start is in college (I guess that's not what you wanted to hear), but it will soon follow you in the first two and to introduce the world of photography in your area, if your good, it will be recognized. Photography is the easy part. The third is to you, but it's easier to shoot wolves say if you know how they pack their habitat, what they eat, where and how they are. It is not uncommon for wildlife photographers just watch and follow their subject for a couple of years (they behave differently at different times of the year) even before the camera in the bag. In the meantime, they know where to install them the most likely chance for shots they want, taking account where the light is less this time of year, the bottom, this kind of behavior to expect etc. etc. In short it is not easy, if it were anyone could do it.
