Photography A Cultural History

Photography A Cultural History
How do humans use to live before industrialization and agriculture? Which is the best source?

I am particularly interested in the best approximation of what people's lives were like before recorded history. I do not know whether to expect in a book, website or collection of journal articles. I am interested because I am working on a photography project on the lives of individuals to their environment and I am curious where reading these things take me creatively. If you have met all the bits wide open eyes of info about it, I'd like to hear:)
