You say you "know the basics. Much of that, running a business or take pictures? I will not dwell too long on the commercial aspect because I've never been this great shakes as a businessman myself. I would say the majority of companies that do photography because of poor business practices and lack of plain knowledge and skills to running a business of any kind. Do you have a license? Do you work with a CPA for your accounting and taxes? How did you structured your business? Unless you take precautions, a lawsuit by a customer on the biggest thing could have disastrous consequences for your finances. You must separate your business and personal assets as a business structure LLC. Do you have contracts and model releases place? Do you have liability insurance? Do you understand the differences in marketing and advertising? Again, just taking pictures is a small part of a successful business. Now your photos themselves. Some of them are quite nice and show some creative ideas real compositions, unprofessional. However, there are also many photos that look very unprofessional problems. These problems include: "Dead eyes" picture to know where some fill flash should be used to capture light in the eyes of your subjects. It is a photo where you took a close up of the child's head with obviously part of your wide angle lens. The oversized head is terribly and distorted what is normal when you do that. The color balance is not right, the overall distribution is too blue. Many photos black and white in the child section looks too flat and gray. It appears that you have to go grayscale or desaturate the color. They are simply very dull and unflattering. You better learn some techniques to convert to black and white, for example by using channel mixer and curves, and / or using some dedicated conversion programs for this purpose. There are some problems here and there overexposure. STOP tilt the camera! Horizons angle are not "artistic" and such photos that look terrible on a wall. They make people feel the need to cling to something to avoid falling. Children are difficult to tilt the camera thing, not pro should fall into this trap. Some problems of composition here and there to try put your subject in the center of your frame. Seek to place your subject off center and make the entire image of the photo have effect, not only dead space in each beside the point. In the landscape ", remove the scope of the window plan. It shows no skill or a creative photo of you. You were sitting in an airplane seat. Anyone with any camera could have taken the same picture, and probably about a million times more. Photo greenish Other "landscapes" has terrible overexposure in the upper part. In the personal section, boots and flowers are beautiful. I love them, …. but the photo of the candy on the teeth is horrible. Please dump that. Uggh. Who ruined the other photos. Sorry, but the gallery has to be the worst changes ". The purpose of an amendment to a photo is to make a better appearance. Your changes are the pictures look worse. It seems everything you do bump up the brightness to the point of blowing the information found in some plans. The man who fishes is an example. The sky is ruined by your installation. Also in the photos of two young girls, their faces are overexposed by your changes. Just blast the brightness is not good edition. Also, the thumbnails too painfully obvious that you are doing is simply not add anything to the photos. I see no difference at all in the "edit" pictures of children on the shoulders of young Mans, other than your name at the bottom of the photo on the change? Also, if you want to see before and after pictures, you must combined into a single image containing both pictures, and not forcing people to open the front, while the closing and opening of post photo. Just the fact that the pictures are not arranged like cries such as your editing skills are very limited. You can actually be much better at editing, but this gallery is certainly not showing it. Unfortunately, your site does not link directly to your photos to show specific examples on which comments. Obviously, I took the time to really look at your site and pictures. In most cases I would not bother because many people here are not on the value effort. I think though, that you really want to do as well and that you have made a real start to this end. Again, you have certain beautiful pictures and show you some real promise. The problems that are there are really those of someone learning the craft and generally disappear with time and experience. However, you asked for advice, and I have given. I hope you have it in mind actually tryi
