Advice for wedding photography with a difference?
I have been asked to take wedding photos for a friend, however his wedding is taking place at a registry office and is going to be fairly casual – no white dress or bridesmaids etc. Please could you give me any advice or ideas for good shots when there will only be the couple and the witnesses, and no wedding reception?
It is what it is. Record the proceedings just as any wedding. It will still have many of the same important elements. If the office is industrial ugly (as many are) use a shallow DOF to minimize the surroundings. One good thing is the ceiling may be low and easy to bounce the flash if allowed. Usually in the JOP office anything will go, but be sure to ask and also consult with the B&G as well. Get the vow exchange, the ring exchange, the kiss, and the signing of the document. Then go to some nice location in a park or somewhere important to the couple for some portrait shots in good light.
